Does your district know what guidelines they can set for staff using social media for professional OR personal use? The training and written guidelines below guide all staff to know what those guidelines are and can guide campus administrators and HR in taking action for inappropriate pictures and postings. A campus administrator can easily take the presentation materials, read the script, and provide training to the staff during a staff meeting. Certificates of Participation can be printed, and a copy can be filed at the campus or district level to document knowing the guidelines.

Since the passage of law enforcement on every campus requirement in the 88th legislative session, some of our districts have sent us several questions regarding the role of administrators and school-based law enforcement. (SBLE) To respond, TxSP has developed a new training for administrators and SBLEs for clarification. To accompany the training, we have also developed a protocol and a resource to guide schools in law enforcement and access to student records.

Counselors across the state report struggling to use their time effectively due to the high student-counselor ratios and non-counseling duties. TxSP has posted a training to teach counselors to use their district electronic calendars to manage the components of a comprehensive counseling program that is required based on the Texas model (87th Legislative Session). Our team has gotten excellent feedback on how this training has helped counselors at all levels to prioritize and advocate using this tool.

Below are three resources: the training, the protocol and documents, and the report that all school districts are required to complete annually. This report will be completed in October, and TEA will have access to it if your district is chosen for an audit.

If it’s been a while since your district has done an updated onboarding session or if they have never had an onboarding session, you need to schedule one to get the most out of your subscription to Texas School Procedures. Feedback from a district we did onboarding sessions, “By the way,  I thought you absolutely crushed it with the counselors and nurses!!!  I have received tremendous feedback on it.”
